Hear the songs, feeding and communication calls made by the whales of Glacier Bay and Icy Strait in Southeast Alaska. "Voices of Humpback Whales ~ Alaska" was recorded by Brad and Tamara Rice.

Whale acoustics vary depending on the whale's environment. Blue whales can make low frequency sounds that travel across oceans — over 1600 miles. Coastal Humpback whales make higher frequency sounds that are more localized. The sonar clicks emitted by resident pods of Orcas are very intense.

Voices of the Humpback Whales (CD)

Submerge yourself into the wild depths and listen to astonishing and unimaginable sounds of the Humpback Whales feeding and communication calls in their underwater world.

Pure organic whale talk with no music additives.

The Humpback whales are vocal, with sounds beyond imagination. This CD is not the familiar recordings of gentle ocean sounds and whales singing in the distance. These whales are in your face! You will hear the Humpbacks interacting with breathtaking underwater sounds and calls, the trumpeting sound of their breathing, and the water rippling off of these gentle giants bodies. Finally a CD for worldwide whale enthusiasts, where the whale calls are exciting, rapid, and sometimes startling. This CD will blow the lid off of the belief that Humpbacks just sing.

"Our hope is that this collection of sounds, created by Humpback whales at their feeding grounds in Alaska, will help bring attention to the fact that every person has a responsibility to protect and care for the world's oceans and their magnificent inhabitants." -- Brad and Tamara Rice

REVIEW: "This CD introduces the listener to an astonishing new dimension of the Humpback whale's vocal repertoire recorded on their summer feeding grounds in Southeast Alaska. These quality recordings, unadulterated by studio music, remind us that the world of the Humpback whale is indeed rich with sound, and that what we see at the surface is only a small facet of their wild and mysterious world." -- Janet Neilson, Humpback Whale Biologist
